Emily & Jon’s nautical Newport, Rhode Island destination wedding was an east coast dream. We planned 2 destination events for them. Their rehearsal dinner the night before their wedding, and their actual wedding day. We love planning all the weekend events in a destination wedding!
Scroll through to view and read about all the customized details that went into their nautical destination wedding:
We designed the Welcome Bags for guest favors with a custom map of all the meaningful destination wedding weekend landmarks and filled them with the couple’s favorite local Newport, Rhode Island goods. A kind gesture to greet wedding guests with after a day of travel.
Since this was a destination wedding and all guests had traveled in, they were all invited to the rehearsal dinner (or as I like to call it, a “Welcome Dinner”).
This themed Rehearsal Dinner reminds us of what summer is all about! Guests enjoyed an east coast style lobster boil (the couple’s fav), custom lobster bibs with the wedding hashtag, that of course had a nautical spin “#BohlineCrewOfTwo”, at a beautiful venue by the sea, Forty 1° North. This venue is one of the couple’s favorite restaurants to visit when they visit Newport, which made it special and meaningful to them.
These custom bibs for everyone to wear were one my favorite fun (AND useful) ideas for this wedding.
(on my resume: exceptional bib applicator)
What we look like after a successful first night of wedding events (XL grins).
Can you imagine a dreamier seaside first look location than this? This lighthouse is a beautiful landmark in Newport that was thankfully on the property of their wedding venue. I knew the second I saw the venue that this had to be the first look location.
Speaking of their venue. I am so in love with it! Castle Hill Inn is the most stunning venue for capturing the true essence of what Newport, Rhode Island is all about! Located on Newport’s world renowned Ocean Drive, Castle Hill Inn is a timeless luxury venue overlooking Narragansett Bay where you will see some of the most breathtaking sailboats in the world cruise right by. Newport, Rhode Island is known for being the sailing capital of the world and this location is the best place to take it all in. Every inch of the property is ideal for a nautical luxury wedding like Emily & Jon’s.
I will never not be in love with this ceremony directional sign.
Watching these 2 tie the knot seaside as all the sailboats sailed by was something out of a dream. There was so much love & beauty in every moment.
Got it from her papa. Emily and her dad are so jolly and full of laughter all the time, it’s nearly impossible not to have fun being around them.
Their wedding photographer, Lisa Rigby got the best capture of what their ceremony venue was facing and all the stunning sailboats their guests were taking in during the ceremony.
These ceremony programs fit the nautical elegance theme perfectly.
The bridesmaid’s dresses fit into the nautical elegance theme this destination wedding perfectly. Hand selecting each color and dress style is always worth it.
Cocktail hour consisted of nautical touches and was not short of seafood. The live oyster shucking station was one of my favorites.
Cocktail table design with gold nautical lantern.
Custom Signature Drink Sign with the Mr. & Mrs. Special
Our ideas for a nautical table design for the wedding reception included sailing rope intertwined within the neutral flowers, bowline sailing knots with nautical themed table numbers, nautical menus and compass place cards.
Message in a bottle guest book, still keeping it nautical.
This wedding cake! We based this design off of their wedding colors and wedding flowers.
This is what it looks like when your guests truly show up for your wedding. These 2 are killing it for best dressed.
When wedding event #2 is over, we are still all smiles but behind the smiles we are truthfully a bit sad it’s all over!
ALSO, please check out this sailboat bowtie and pocket square I had made for Adam for this wedding. It’s the little things, people. They make me happy, even when they aren’t for me 🙂 .
This destination was so fun and beautiful The whole town of Newport couldn’t be any cuter! Can’t wait to get back there!
