My heart is still a flutter over this Lobster Boil backyard wedding we planned for Megan + Dan.
This last year has taught us that a more intimate gathering (aka micro weddings) can be just as memorable and lovely as the larger one we initially had planned. It just takes a magic combination of dedication, creative love and intentional detailed planning.
As a wedding planner, I have learned that many assume, “the smaller the gathering, the easier to plan”. For me, that’s not the case. I put the same amount of thought, time, & heart into the wedding planning and wedding ideas of a small wedding as I would a large wedding. Regardless of size, my forever goal is for it to be one of the happiest days of your life and for all your guests to feel the same.
We want every celebration to reflect our client’s taste and lifestyle so it can truly tell their love story. Our signature is transforming our clients’ dreams into reality, enhancing and elevating every detail along the way to create that memorable and remarkable day.
Decreasing the quantity would never change the quality experience we strive to provide.
The wedding planning for Megan and Dan was no exception.
We planned and designed Megan and Dan’s backyard wedding (in less than a month’s time!). In all the plans, our goal is always to bring our couple’s love story to life in a way that suits their style.
Backyard wedding at it’s finest. The wedding was in the bride’s parents (insanely beautiful) backyard. The bride grew up in this house and holds an unlimited amount of cherished memories throughout her life here. The couple spends many weekends here and adding their wedding to the heartfelt memories is surely going to be at the top of the list.
The groom’s family is from the east coast, which is why we naturally suggested a traditional east coast style Lobster Boil to help celebrate the families coming together! They love creating new family memories together and had never experienced the fun of a boil. Knowing many had likely not eaten a full lobster like that before, we provided adorable “How To Eat A Lobster” cards with fun reading instructions.
Love at the lake is real & a huge part of the couple’s life, which is why a charter cruise on their home lake for cocktail hour was the perfect fit. They hopped on their charter boat right after their backyard wedding ceremony from the easy breezy convenience of the bride’s parents dock in the backyard.
Megan + Dan have such a wonderful hilarious sense of humor so we had to make a cute, with a touch of silly, lobster bib for all to wear for the boil. As well as a fun mad-lib “wedding toast” for everyone to fill out and share at the table.
The couple was initially getting married in Sedona, Arizona this past spring, but our not so good friend COVID-19, put a little bump in the plans. To keep the boho look they planned & loved with a Lake twist, we did a combo of the 2 looks with decor & flowers.
We made Ceremony Programs with one of the bride’s favorite love quotes as the front.
Calligraphy place cards on lemons (that also acted as a keepsake) to play off the seafood boil ingredients.
The bar menu and signature drinks were named after all the couple’s favorite dogs in their life.
Funfetti (couple’s fav) wedding cake topped with what we knew our bride’s favorite dessert was… doughnuts. Accompanied with a cake topper made out of wine corks (for our wine loving couple) that included an adorable little cork family set of them with their dog child.
Wishing I could live this day all over again! But instead, I would like to be eating all this lobster instead of working 😉 .
